its a “socialthing”

This article on TechCrunch is about social networking environments, FriendFeed and Socialthing. There exists websites similar to facebook where you know what all your friends are doing online. The article talks about how Socialthing is easier to use and works with gmail and facebook to register your friends without having to enter in the information again. I know through this class how huge web 2.0 and social websites are, but I don’t think I could ever get into something like this. I spend almost my entire day on my computer, but I have more work to do than to search around to see my friend’s new blog post…no offense.

i didn’t see which word you linked to connect to the article but, i am going to have to agree with you on not needing yet another social networking site, especially one based on blogs. while facebook seems to the big thing these days, happily blogging isn’t a huge aspect of it, simple connections and communication between friends. while i will admit being a big fan of how well i have kept in touch with my scattered friends via the networking program, i still feel wary of it right now and were it not helpful in that aspect, i would get rid of the thing. as several other people have mentioned, it’s already getting pretty ridiculous with the apps and opening up to highschoolers so, i suppose we’ll see.

maybe socialthing will be the next big group connector. i am not into the whole hardcore blogger scene though so, personally, i don’t see that happening.
